Rob, Kristen & Taylor top Moviefone’s Top 10 Movie Entertainers List of 2009

Congratulations are in order for the “Twilight Trinity”!

They were recently named among several heavy hitters for Moviefone’s Top 10 Movie Entertainers of 2009!

3. Kristen Stewart, Rob Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner
Whether we were on Team Edward or Team Jacob, a lot of us couldn’t stop talking all year about ‘Twilight,’ and how last year’s initial installment had whetted our appetite for the vampire/werewolf/teen-girl triangle to come. The stakes were high, but the anticipation paid off in ‘New Moon.’ In a year where pop culture everywhere seemed to be crawling with vampires, these neckbiters were the ones we couldn’t stop obsessing over.

Holy majoley!  Do you see some of the names on this list?  Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, George Clooney?  Wow.  Just.. wow.

Special Thanks:  New Moon Movie.

Oh my… I know which one I’m picking.  I’m sorry, but when I saw this I could help but think of the fan fiction, Clipped Wings and Inked Armor [M rating, you’ve been warned!].  Gotta love me some cupcakes! LOL

Twilight: New Moon fans who want a true taste of Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattison, the Sweet Avenue Bakery in Rutherford, N.J., has just the remedy – chocolate or vanilla cake cupcakes with edible likenesses of your favorite stars atop the vanilla bean frosting.

MTV discusses upcoming hopes for ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ movie

‘Eclipse’ Is Coming In June, And Here’s What We’re Hoping Will Sell It To A Wider Audience

While “New Moon” has certainly accrued fan approval and box office power since its release on November 20, critics haven’t had the same appreciation for the vampire romance. “Eclipse,” the next in the series, wrapped in October and is slated for a June 30, 2010 release, we have a few suggestions to help make it a film everyone — not just Twilighters — will enjoy.

Amp up the Bella and Edward romance
“Twilight” established the potent romance between Bella and Edward, but “New Moon” sacrificed much of the chemistry for the sake of Bella’s growing bond with Jacob. Granted, the reason why Edward was mostly absent during “New Moon” was because he broke up with Bella and was moping around in an apartment for months on end, but Chris Weitz forgot to reestablish why exactly Bella and Edward were so in love. With “Eclipse,” we hope David Slade explores their connection, especially with so many fans jumping ship to Team Jacob after seeing Taylor Lautner’s abs.

Expand the secondary characters
Even though Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are the biggest draws for most fans, secondary characters like Anna Kendrick’s Jessica, Mike Welch’s Mike Newton, Dakota Fanning’s Jane and Michael Sheen’s Aro were key to some of the most fun parts of “New Moon.” “Eclipse” introduces a whole slew of new characters (Riley and Leah, anyone?) and we hope some of the old favorites aren’t sacrificed for the new, especially with Anna Kendrick’s potential Oscar win for “Up in the Air.” Plus, there’s the fact that the scenes in which Bella interacts with humans (like her father, played by Billy Burke, and the high school students) are some of the most interesting and well-acted in the series thus far.

Make the fight scenes more action-packed
Yes, we understand that a lot of care went into making the CGI werewolves in “New Moon,” and thank goodness the fight scenes in the second “Twilight” installment were better than the first, but the final battle in “Eclipse” is the most action-packed part of the entire “Twilight Saga.” With David Slade’s previous vampire film “30 Days of Night” under his belt, we can expect some intense action, but we’d like to remind him we want to see some newborn vamps being torn limb from limb anyways (and not just in slow motion).

Make the film more appealing to a non-“Twilight” audience
There are a lot of elements in “Eclipse” that could attract an audience not made up solely of Twilighters. In “New Moon,” there was no effort spent on setting up the story from the previous book or explaining why Bella and Edward are so in love. “Eclipse” was the book that made Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series what it is today, and hopefully “Eclipse” the movie will break the film series out to a larger audience as well.

Have fun with it
Some of the best parts of “New Moon” were when screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg and director Chris Weitz let loose and had fun with the film. “Face Punch,” anyone? (This I consider a stroke of genius. I expect a “Face Punch” movie poster for Chanukah.) Flying Virgin America to Italy? Jessica’s commentary on zombie films? If “Eclipse” doesn’t take itself too seriously and doesn’t hold itself too close to the book, it could turn out to be not only a great movie for “Twilight” fans, but a great film in general.

Rob calls Taylor’s ‘New Moon’ transformation ‘strange’

Robert Pattinson Calls Taylor Lautner’s Transformation ‘Strange’

‘I was like, ‘Jeez, now I have to go to the gym!’ ‘ the ‘New Moon’ star recalls.

By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Jeff Cornell

With “New Moon” still riding high at the box office and poised to become one of the highest-grossing films of the year — if not all time — the world can’t seem to get enough of Robert Pattinson. It’s a good thing, then, that our pals over at MTV Radio recently spoke with the “Twilight” heartthrob.

Last week, we brought you RPattz’s thoughts on romances, both onscreen and off. Now, as those Thanksgiving leftovers wear thin, we’re happy to dish out part two of that interview, featuring some yummy tidbits on Rob’s 90-year-old fans, jealousy over Taylor’s bod, and his New Year’s resolution to be less self-deprecating.

MTV: Taylor Lautner’s transformation between the movies is now the stuff of legend. Tell us about the first time you saw him and what you thought.

Robert Pattinson: I didn’t see Taylor until just a little bit before we started shooting [“New Moon”]. When he came back, I had the same reaction as everybody else. I was like, “Jeez, now I have to go to the gym!” But yeah, it was strange. This one was weird, because I hardly did any scenes with Taylor. We did the scenes at the beginning and scenes at the end [together], and he had his entire story line develop without me being around, which is interesting, because I had no idea where his performance was going. So it wasn’t really a competition or anything; it was all independent. Whereas in “Eclipse,” we’re doing scenes together all the time with Bella.

MTV: Who is your favorite movie vampire of all time?

Pattinson: Wow, I don’t really know. I always think of the wrong people. I always think Christian Slater in “Interview With a Vampire,” but he’s not the vampire — he’s the interviewer! I really like Wesley Snipes [in the “Blade” movies]. I think Wesley Snipes is great.

MTV: Out of all the “Twilight” stars, you seem to do the fewest interviews. Why is that?

Pattinson: I think it’s such a risky thing doing interviews. I try to limit the amount of interviews I do, because no one is that interesting, especially when you’re not really saying anything. I don’t particularly want to be some kind of character in society or whatever. So I guess the only thing you can do is do jobs and see if people respond to that.

MTV: You tease yourself as “not saying anything,” and a lot of people see you as being self-deprecating. Are you?

Pattinson: I’m always told that I don’t really know who I am, so hopefully I won’t compartmentalize myself because of that. I am just completely ignorant of [how others perceive me]. I’ve never really struggled with anything up until recently. I’ve got to stop being so self-depreciating, because people are starting to believe it. They’re like, “Yeah, that guy is an idiot.” So I’ve tried to stop doing that.

MTV: What was the last fan interaction that really made you laugh?

Pattinson: I always find it funny when older people come up. There was a woman who came up to me the other day who must have been in her 90s! And she said all this stuff; it’s very unusual. And they say exactly the same things as 12-year-old girls! That is kind of bizarre.

Variety reports of the ‘Twilight’ dilemma

This is getting exciting, people!

I love all these new details… and go Kristen, Taylor & Rob for all these possibilities.  This is crazy!  LOL

The two-week $481 million worldwide gross of “New Moon” has vaulted Summit Entertainment into the big leagues, but it also has created a high-class challenge for toppers Rob Friedman and Patrick Wachsberger.

They will likely have to cut a few big checks if they decided, as rumored, to split Stephenie Meyer’s final “Twilight” novel, “Breaking Dawn,” into two pictures. Sources said Summit has set Melissa Rosenberg — who wrote the first three films — to finish the series, but Summit has to clear several hurdles before Rosenberg learns how many more scripts she’ll write.

One of those hurdles is figuring out whether “New Moon” director Chris Weitz will respond favorably to overtures from the film company and the cast to shoot two more films, back to back.

Summit execs would not comment, but multiple sources said the company wants to go the two-film route, which means reopening negotiations and securing approval from the author. It also means making new deals with a principal cast that is only locked up for four films. If “Breaking Dawn” becomes two pictures, all of the key cast members will get fat raises, and the three principals — Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner — could land paydays in the eight-figure range.

‘New Moon’ has a lot to be thankful for this weekend

Gobble! Gobble!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

Man, do these guys have a lot to be thankful for….

Following its record-breaking first weekend, first-place finisher New Moon brought in $42.5 million over the three-day (Friday through Sunday) weekend, driving its cume to a fantastic $230.7 — the sixth highest of the year, just below Star Trek ($257.7 million). Not far behind, The Blind Side came in at number two with $40.1 million by appealing to audiences who would rather watch a movie about football than stay home for a game on TV. With a $100.3 total so far, the pigskin pic is Sandra Bullock’s second $100 million hit of the year after this summer’s The Proposal ($164 million).
