Canada’s Flare Magazine recently named Rob’s Cosmopolis costar one of their Generation Next: 14 Names You Need to Know. This is a list of actors & actresses 30 & under who are rising to the top!
Starring in upcoming films opposite Robert Pattinson, Naomi Watts and Keira Knightley, Toronto’s Sarah Gadon is on the verge of making a career out of being a performer–a dream she’s been working toward since she was a nine-year-old ballerina playing a lamb in The Nutcracker. In David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method, Gadon plays Emma Jung, the long-suffering wife of Michael Fassbender’s Carl Jung. The collaboration worked so well that Cronenberg cast her as Robert Pattinson’s estranged wife in his upcoming day-in-the-life-of-a-multi-millionaire film Cosmopolis. Casting Gadon was an easy decision, Cronenberg explains. “She’s extraordinarily beautiful, she’s incredibly talented and she’s very funny, playful and intelligent,” he says. She’s also starring with Daniel Craig in Dream House and in the vampire thriller The Moth Diaries. And yet working with Pattinson had a way of distilling Gadon’s 15-year résumé into three words: Robert Pattinson’s wife. It’s a hot topic among Team Edward, though Gadon finds it baffling. “This is a glimpse into what his reality is like every day,” she says. “So if anything it makes me think, “I’m really lucky.” The only reason people are talking about me is because of him.” It won’t be long before the conversation shifts.
I also just learned that Sarah Gadon was also among her peers in TIFF’s Rising Star Programme — what a fantastic achievement!
This guy is so cool, I’m so glad he’s in this movie. I can’t wait to see this movie!! It’s going to be GREAT!
BARUCHEL: Again, this is a movie that I agreed to do without knowing what I’d be doing in it. I was sort of just keeping my fiancée [Allison Pill] company in Manhattan while she was doing her play. My greatest ambition was to just write horror. And that’s been picking up after my work on [co-writing] GOON. My writing partner [Jesse Chabot] and I got hired on a couple of things, and so on-camera acting was the furthest thing from my mind this year. And then they said, “You want to go to Toronto and do two days on the new David Cronenberg?” I said, “I’ll pick up that man’s f**king dry cleaning.” I’ll do anything to meet him. He’s one of my original heroes. For a Canadian who wants to make horror movies for the rest of his life, there’s no greater hero or no more important figure than David Cronenberg. It was a very, very easy “yes” for me. And showing up there, once I got past the initial butterflies in my stomach and the jitters of not only getting to meet one of my heroes, but getting to work with him, that took some getting through because I was flabbergasted. Here I am, getting to watch him do his thing, in his environment. But once I was past that, it was the easiest job I’ve ever had. It was simple and fun and exciting and I could retire tomorrow because I’m in one of his flicks now.
FANG: Who do you play in COSMOPOLIS?
BARUCHEL:The thing is incredibly dense and ethereal and mostly it’s just dialogue heavy. It takes place in the early 2000s during a version of the dotcom boom. It follows Robert Pattinson’s character, who’s the CEO of one of these tech companies, and he’s on his way to work and he’s trying to get a haircut and that’s the movie. And 90 percent of it takes place in his limo en route to get a haircut. He has all these different meetings with people he works alongside, and they come in to the limo, he has a long, sort of philosophical conversation with them and they get out, they exchange seats, and I’m the first guy he picks up. I’m the guy who started the company with him, and I’m a young, rich, upwardly mobile tech head. We have a four-page long existential scene about the nature of 20th-century living and then I disappear. It was the most satisfying, interesting, exciting and every adjective in the book. It really, really nourished me. I know I’m a better actor, a better writer and a better person for it.
I like how he answers a question, but he doesn’t really answer the question. He gives so much more interesting info instead! 😛 LOL He’s awesome..
Robert Pattinson’s Cosmopolis co-star, Juliette Binoche talks to French newspaper La Provence.
For David Cronenberg’s new movie ?
J.B: “Yes, it is called “Cosmopolis”. I play an art dealer who has an affair with Robert Pattinson. He plays a billionaire who loses everything.”
Robert Pattinson evolves in a sphere that seems far away from yours…
J.B: “I don’t have a point of view about his career, I didn’t see the “Twilight” movies. We had dinner together on set. He is an incredible cinema buff who for several years saw two to three movies a day. He is a fan of “Les amants du Pont Neuf” (The Pont Neuf lovers). He was funny, you would have thought he was a little child.”
Thanks to TwilightPoison!
These are the pics I took on May 29th at the first location shoot for Cosmopolis. They aren’t great pics, my hands were shaking really bad. LOL
In a recent article with Adelaide Now, actor Paul Giamatti discussed his upcoming movie role and what he didn’t take into consideration when choosing the role.
Then it’s on to David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis with Robert Pattinson. Are you ready for R-Pat’s fans? They’re pretty loud.
When a friend of mine heard I was doing this movie, and he was in it, she completely freaked out. But I’m just so blissfully unaware of this stuff, I wasn’t even taking in the fact that it’s the Twilight guy.

You know what time it is…
It’s book club time!
I’m very excited to announce that Amber over @ RobMyWorld.com has decided to host another book club!! Awesome! This time, it just so happens to be
my guy.. um, I mean, our guy, Robert Pattinson’s most recently announced upcoming project, Cosmopolis!
The Wikipedia page for this book sites the following to summarized this story:
Cosmopolis is the story of Eric Packer, a 28 year old multi-billionaire asset manager who makes an odyssey across midtown Manhattan in order to get a haircut. The stretch limo which adorns the cover of the book is richly described as highly technical and very luxurious, filled with television screens and computer monitors, bulletproofed and floored with Carrara marble. It is also cork lined to eliminate (though unsuccessfully, Packer notes) the intrusion of street noise.
Mmmmhmmm… okay! Sounds interesting, right? I personally have never read this book, but I’ve learned that after the recent announcement of his role, that several on Twitter have (convenient if you ask me LOL! I kid!) and I’m getting mixed feedback. I’m looking forward to checking it for myself!
I’m hopeful as I’m always looking for different stuff to read. Let’s step out of comfort zones, shall we?
So, what are you waiting for? Get your book (i.e., help out this site!), you have just enough to get it by January 17th and head on over to her blog & join in on the fun!
Special Thanks: Amber @ RobMyWorld.com!!
